MSN - Microsoft Network is a collection of web pages and services from Microsoft. MSN launched August 24, 1995.

MSN.com
In 1998, largely underutilized 'MSN.com' domain name was reinvented both an Internet portal, and as a marker for a family of Web sites produced in Microsoft's Interactive Media Group. The new area adds MSN in direct competition with sites such as Yahoo! and Go Network. Because the new format opened MSN content to the world for free, Internet service provider and subscription service was renamed "MSN Internet Access" at the time.

The relaunched MSN.com contained a whole family of sites, including the original content, channels that were transmitted from the Internet, shows that it was part of "MSN 2.0" experiment (although none of the facts continue to show), and new features which was quickly added. MSN.com was also a sequel to the default Internet Explorer home page, as all the previous "Microsoft Internet Start 'site was merged with MSN.com.
At the end of the 1990s, Microsoft collaborated with many other suppliers, as well as other Microsoft services, to expand the reach of MSN services. Some examples are Microsoft Ad Center, MSN, and MSN Encarta Encyclopedia with different levels of access to information.

Since then, MSN.com was a popular destination, launching many new services and content. MSN and Hotmail and Messenger services were promoted from the MSN.com portal, which gave a central place for all of MSN content. MSN Search, a dedicated search engine that launched in 1999. Single sign-in service for Microsoft's online service, Microsoft Passport, also launched across all of MSN services in 1999. The MSN.com portal and related group of services under the "umbrella MSN 'remained largely the same throughout much of the next decade.

Hotmail
Hotmail is a free web-based email service from Microsoft. Originally started as a separate service in 1996, it became a part of the MSN family in 1997. Since 2006 there has been a part of Microsoft's Windows Live group of online services. Hotmail has more than 380 million users worldwide and is available in 35 languages.

MSN Messenger
MSN launched an instant messaging service in 1999 to compete with AOL Instant Messenger, which was originally known as "MSN Messenger Service", and was later shortened to simply "MSN Messenger." Currently, the underlying technology is called ". NET Messenger Services ", while Windows Live Messenger is the name of the main program used to access the service. Although the term "MSN" has come to be synonymous with service in Internet slang.
