Cyclone Phet Approaching Gujarat and Pakistan’s Coastal Areas : Tropical Cyclone

The tropical cyclone, named "Phet" in the Arabian Sea was likely to intensify into a severe cyclonic storm over the next 24 hours, the Met Office reports said.
The Cyclone had moved in a northwesterly direction over the last 12 hours, and was now Canter at 17 degrees north and 61 degrees east, the India Meteorological Department (IMD), has Phet cyclone intensified further, and is centrally located about 1,000 kilometers southwest of Naliya in Kutch region of Gujarat.
Gujarat was on high alert with rescue teams rushing in as rain and showers were reported along the coast Wednesday. The weather office warned that these may increase with Phet cyclone likely to hit the state in the next few days.
