Motorola announces Flip out Android phone

Motorola has made their latest MotoBlur handset official, announcing the Motorola FlipOut for a European release sometime in the next few weeks. The Android 2.1 phone will be available in seven colors, and is aimed at the young, social networking crowd with a small form factor and a tweaked MotoBlur interface that has enhanced screen custimization, a new Happenings and Messages widget, and Data Manager for monitoring usage among other additions.

Available in Licorice, Fairway Green, Raspberry Crush, Brilliant Blue, Poppy Red, Saffron or White colors, the phone comes with a 3 megapixel camera and features a fairly large 2.8-inch, 320 x 240 screen. Motorola's CrystalTalk technology and support for one touch uploads to Picasa, Flickr, Facebook and MySpace too find their way in.

The browser supports multi-touch pinch to zoom, and is Adobe Flash as well. For music fans, Flipout's connected media player offers full screen lyric support, integrated song ID and a social solution for knowing what people around you are listening to.Being Android, the phone comes with all the Google services including Google Search, Google Maps, Gmail and access to thousands of apps on the Android Market.

The phone is slated to be released in Q2 at a yet to be announced price.In the way of hardware you get a full five row flip-out QWERTY keyboard, a 3MP camera, and a 2.8-inch QGVA display. The FlipOut comes with 512MB of internal storage and a 2 GB microSD card. No pricing was announced.
