Raavan has hit the premier theatre in London and elsewhere, and the review is that this is one of the better Mani Rathnam Movie. 'Raavanan "is inspired by Asokavanam episode in Ramayanam. There is a modern version of the episode where Raavanan kidnapping Sita and keep her in Asokavanam. Later Raman ventures to rescue his wife and bring her back.

'Raavanan' is a tri-language at the same time in Hindi as 'Raavan' and 'villain' in Telugu. With Abhiskek Bachchan in the title role and Vikram plays the role of Rama. Aishwarya Rai plays the role of Sita in all three versions.
