The Tamilnadu budget for the year 2010-11 will be presented by Finance Minister K Anbazhagan in the newly constructed state-of-the-art Assembly complex, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on 13 March.

This will be the first budget to be presented in the new Assembly hall and the Opposition parties are preparing to rake up many issues, including Mullaiperiyar, inter-State water disputes and the rise in prices of essential commodities.

As there is also the possibility of advancing the Assembly elections, it is highly expected that the budget would be laced with many popular schemes.

The women’s reservation Bill is expected to be passed in the current session of the Assembly after it is adopted by the Lok Sabha
