A short heavy storms hit not only Brooklyn Heights, but the rest of Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan and Staten Island Thursday evening. At 5:41 p.m. a tornado warning was issued to Brooklyn and Queens. Only seven minutes later was called off. damage that the storm could only be described as destruction. Brooklyn Tornado: warning in real event

A tornado warning was issued by the National Weather Service in Monmouth and Ocean counties tonight. Severe thunderstorms have been moving throughout the area along with destructive winds and rain. According to the warning, sites such as Jackson, Jackson Mills, Free Wood Acres, Lakewood, Farmingdale, Howell, Colingwood Park, Asbury Park, Belmar, and Tinton Falls to be affected until 6:40 today. National Weather Service said strong winds are gusting 60-70 miles per hour.

Caution also warned people for their safety because the tornado was predicted to be surrounded by strong wind's and rain. They advised people to be in the basement, since it is the safest place. These powerful storms caused the National Weather Service tornado warning to the government in certain areas of Brooklyn and Queens too.The storm also brought power to the thousands of Brooklyn, Queens and New Jersey and households.
