Thousands of pilgrims and religious leaders from around the world participated in a Rath-yatra, Festival of cars here Sunday night, when the city was declared by the amazing colors and sounds of the annual Hare Krishna Festival.

The first Rath-yatra festival outside of India took place in San Francisco in 1967. This festival came to London in 1969, where it has been faithfully observed every year in over 40 years, attracts more than 30,000 people a day.
