GSLV | Isro | PSLV | PSLV Launch Schedule | Cartosat 2B

India's space agency ISRO Monday launched its Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) rocket hurled into orbit five satellites, including advanced high-resolution mapping satellite Cartosat-2B.

"I am happy to say PSLV 16 was a successful flight. All the satellites were injected precisely," Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chairman K. Radhakrishnan said.

ISRO's PSLV 230 tons is 44 meters high came down from the sky from space station here, about 80 km north of Chennai. The five satellites together weigh 819 kg.

Over the years, ISRO designed its' core alone "version of the PSLV. But PSLV rockets "maximum carrying capacity is around 1750 kg. So ISRO developed a new rocket-geostationary satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV), which can carry more than two tones, because heavy pay load brings in more money.
