Distinguishes of Arizona Schools 2004-2005

As with many school systems across the United States, Arizona Schools more measurements and accountability programs in place to improve student academic performance. AZ Teacher assessment is based on four established measures already required in Arizona schools. Blackhawks received an academic performance index score of 815 on edging out Palm Desert High to hold the highest API all valley high schools.

API is a score between 200 and 1000 provided to all schools in the state based on how students perform on standardized academic tests. La Quinta High increased its score by 42 points in 2009-10, one of the valley's biggest jump. Students choose the answer they think is right on the online responder, and their answers are sent to the teacher.


While the State has not released to the final information as to whether La Quinta High also met federal goals, made two as La Quinta schools: Ben Franklin Elementary and Colonel Mitchell Paige Middle East.
