Kelly Rowland 3D Music Video “Rose-Colored Glasses”
Earlier today, Kelly Rowland premiered the music video for her new, Dr. Luke produced single, "Rose-colored glasses." It is the second music video to come out of Kelly's third album era, after her moderate hit "Commander". "Rose Colored Glasses" is the second single (to receive the video treatment) by Kelly Rowland's upcoming third album. So this is really weird without the 3D effect .
The video was directed by fashion photographer Rankin, so it's filled with lots of high-fashion, glamor photos of Rowland, much the same way as Sky Ferreira's Rankin-shot "One" was. I'm still not sold on the song but the video is really quite amazing and dramatic, and really captures Rowland beauty and emotion of the song (or at least feeling that the song should have).
It is not surprising that "Rose Colored Glasses" has done zilch in the charts, but thanks to radio king Dr. Luke it managed to make a brief appearance at # 39 on the MediaBase top forty airplay chart. Kelly's third album is still untitled with no release date, but she did recently confirm that it would be out next year. Keep trying, girl.
"The concept of the video is that it is in 3D. It is a very emotional song. You have this theme to look at the world in an optimistic way from the outside," chimed in Rankin, who has previously worked with pop stars Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue and Lily Allen.
The track will appear on Kelly's still-untitled third album, expected later this year.
