Veteran Film Producer D Ramanaidu Declare as Dada Saheb Phalke Award for 2009

Veteran film producer D Ramanaidu was today elected to the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Award for 2009 for his outstanding contribution to Indian movies in the course of a long career of almost half a century in which he has made a number of entertaining movies and been involved in all aspects by industry. Ramanaidu will be presented at prize at the International Film Festival of India held in Goa in October.



The award is given based on the recommendations of a committee of eminent persons. It will be presented by the president at the National Museum Film Awards function scheduled to be held here in October this year. He has also produced a film titled Hamari Beti in Hindi, which focuses on how disabled people can live a normal life, and when his goals.This film has been screened at international film festivals such as Chicago and Venice.The main character in the film is a girl who is heavily handicapped in real life.

Over the past 47 years he has been a prolific producer of more than 130 films in several Indian languages and finds mention in the Guinness Records. Apart from Telugu movies, he has the honor of producing films in Hindi, Bengali, Oriya, Assamese, Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, Gujarati, Marathi and Bhojpuri. He has also been honored with several awards by the Andhra Pradesh government.

Dr. Ramanaidu has also produced a film titled "Hamari Beti" in Hindi, which focuses on how disabled people can live a normal life and achieve their goals. This film has been screened at international film festivals such as Chicago and Venice. Dr. Ramanaidu is 57 Receiver
of the prize, named after DadasahebPhalke, a pioneer in the Indian film industry.

The Galaxy of artists who worked in his films including NT Rama Rao, A Nageswara Rao, Sivaji Ganesan, Pandari Bai, Jamuna, Padmini, Sobhan Babu, Kamal Haasan, Jayaprada, Chiranjeevi, Rajnikanth, Rajesh Khanna, Hema Malini, Rekha, Jeetendra and Sreedevi. This film has
been shown at international film festivals such as Chicago and Venice. Apart from this, established Ramanaidu studios, record, preview and dubbing theaters and laboratories in Hyderabad and Vishakapatnam.
