Some believe Lakshmi Devi, the goddess of wealth, was born on this day. All who worship Lakshmi Devi on that day and be vigilant throughout the night will be blessed with eternal money, although he has not Lakshmi yoga in his horoscope.

It is believed that one should drink cold milk in the fast on this day.
