India and the U.S. nuke deal 'not close track': U.S.

USA Thursday tried to allay any anxiety over the future of Indo-US nuclear deal, says landmark pact was "not off-track, and both countries have committed themselves to implement it.

Assistant U.S. State Secretary Robert Blake says that both sides hoped to sign the end use monitoring agreement within the defense that the United States will be able to deliver technology to India.

He adds that there was no question of appointing an envoy for Kashmir and the United States has no plans to play some role between India and Pakistan in this matter. "

Blake, who will follow the State Hillary Clinton India on 17 July, says that the United States also appreciates the recent meeting between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari.

"The Indo-US nuclear deal is not without traces and both India and the United States has promised to implement the agreement," Blake told reporters when asked to comment on the G-8 decision to impose a brake on full cooperation on nuclear countries.

At last week's G8 summit in Italy, the United States had persuaded the world's richest countries to prohibit the transfer of enrichment and reprocessing of items to countries that have not signed the nuclear non-proliferation treaty, including India.
