Chelsea King Memorial

King memorial service was held at her school’s stadium on Saturday 13th March 2010 and it was attended by thousands of people from all walks of life. During Chelsea King memorial service, her school mates, teachers, friends, relatives and family shared the memories of the teenager. They assembled there to recall sweet memories of the King as well as to thank all those who helped her family during rigorous search etc. In other words, Chelsea King memorial service has transformed into a thanksgiving day when her family appreciated and thanked the society at large, particularly the students, the volunteers and the police for their help and efforts rendered during the whole incident.

Chelsea King, a teenaged school girl, was found missing from Poway California on 25th February 2010 when she went out for running practice because she was an outstanding athlete and runner. Some of her belongings were found from the nearby park. The police and volunteers started search for the missing girl by using every possible means. Later on, her dead body was found on 2nd March 2010. She was reportedly molested and killed by some sex offender. In the meantime, the police arrested a sex offender Gilbert Gardner in connection with the assassination of the teenager.

Her memorial service was held in Poway High School, California on Saturday. Her school mates, teachers, and family shared their memories on the occasion. Around six thousands people attended the service. All the participants were given sunflowers by the students in the memory of their beloved school mate. Her family thanked all the people who had helped them in this tortuous period. Her father had appreciated the role of the student community in this horrible incident and vowed for more strict laws for sex offenders who ruined life of parents like them.
