The jury is still out on Zach Snyder's 300th Much has been closed by the historical inaccuracy and over-stylized fight scenes in this sword-and-sandals CGI celebration, but the 300 is basically an adaptation of a novel alive with only a loose knot based the actions of the Hot Gates 480BC.

Important true story of how simple King Leonidas led a small army of Greek soldiers to hold out an invading Persian army more than 20 times as large. The actual heroism of those who stood and finally died with Leonidas helped shape the path Western civilization, so that the Greek city states time to organize an army which repelled the Persians. Set in 480 BC.

In Snyder visually inspiring manner 300 deeds of the three hundred Spartan military who held a huge Persian army at bay in the battle of Thermopalae in Greece for several days before the heroic succumb. The Spartans are led by Leonid persistent in battle and their queen fights sleazy politicians Theron, home subtle front.

This is not a dry earlier epics from people like Oliver Stone, but a feat packed, visually stunning vision based on the graphic novel by Frank Miller. But to require the use of the Spartans were, it would basically just be a two-hour movie from the slaughter of half the Persian army, it was not for the monster and excellent composition, it is probably spread into the action to exempt any opportunity for boredom.
