Former MLB pitcher Jose Lima, died on Sunday 23 May after suffering a massive heart attack at his home in Pasadena. His wife, Dorcas Astacio, reported that her 37 years old man had been out dancing with her Saturday night and was totally fine.

"Jose complained while you sleep, and I thought he had a nightmare. I called the ambulance personnel, but they could not help him." She continued: "He was a man full of life, apparently without any physical problems and with many plans and projects on the agenda."

Lima was eventually changed back to the Tigers in 2001 and his career went down. In the course of the next five seasons, she played for the Mets, Royals and Dodgers. His MLB career record was 89 wins, 102 losses and 980 strikeouts. He retired from MLB in 2006 and played baseball in Korea and the Dominican Republic until 2009.

His former teammate and friend Jose Cruz, said: "I am in shock. He was a very happy man. There are many who loved him. He was a great pitcher, a competitor. I had so much fun when he threw. He liked the game. I was a fan of him. He was a good man, he was a good friend. "
