Starlin Castro | Cubs Call Up Phenom From Double-A : Starlin Castro

Friday, May 7, 2010

Starlin Castro DeJesus was born on 24 March 1990 in Monte Cristi, Dominican Republic. He is a Major League Baseball shortstop for the Chicago Cubs. Thursday said the Cubs 'Jim Hendry GM as the Cubs' fans should not expect to see the SS look Starlin Castro preferably soon. On Friday, Cubs reportedly named Castro. It is clear that Hendry has another connection than most.

It is clear to me that the brush in the hands of the Pirates was a wake up call the team needed. Completely "ready" or not, Castro lifted provide elusive "spark" that this club needs. It is of course impossible to gauge the value of such a move to a team, but there are times when such movement does just that Ike Davis wakes did for Mets - get a team to victory.

Other functions were made by Cubs today, and these are incorrigible - Andrew Cashner were encouraging to Iowa, and Josh's witty and Marwin Gonzalez came from Daytona to Tennessee.

The young fans and fantasy owners are likely to animated more than 20 years support. Castro, who hit .444 with six extra-base hits in spring training, hit .376/.421/.569 for Double-A this year and he has a career .310/.362/.421 line in the minors. He does not have much pop yet, but he did swipe 51 bases in 74 attempts - 68.9 percent. The win rate to work, but speed is definitely there.
